A Celebration of Youth, Art, and Community

Stories of Hedland is a dynamic public art project that amplifies the voices and visions of local youth through photography and street art. In collaboration with Camera Story and the Town of Port Hedland, this initiative offers hands-on creative workshops where young people explore storytelling, photography techniques, and self-expression.

Through these Camera Story workshops, participants learn the fundamentals of photography, how to craft compelling narratives, and contribute to a large-scale public exhibition. Their works will be transformed into striking paste-up installations across Hedland adorning shopfronts, public buildings, and the skate park—turning the town into an open-air gallery.

Stories of Hedland not only equips young artists with technical skills but also fosters community pride and revitalizes public spaces. By sharing their unique perspectives, Hedland’s youth are shaping the visual and cultural identity of their town, leaving a lasting creative legacy for all to experience.
